“You’ll go to hell if you don’t vote” — Donald Trump warns Republicans ahead of November midterm election
United States (US) President Donald Trump has urged Republicans to turn out in large numbers for the November midterm elections, warning his supporters that failing to vote could have serious consequences.
Speaking at the Republican Party’s convention in Dallas, Texas, Trump sought to rally party members ahead of the elections and encouraged them to persuade their relatives, friends and other voters to participate.

“You know what happens if you don’t vote? You go to hell,” Trump told the crowd before leading supporters in a pledge to vote.
The president also told Republicans to “try and cheat like hell” while repeating allegations that Democrats engage in widespread electoral fraud.
Trump used his address to promote what he described as the achievements of his administration, pointing to the performance of the stock market, lower prescription drug prices, higher military spending and a decline in illegal border crossings.
“In 19 months, I’ve delivered on every single promise I’ve made,” he said.
He also sought to frame the midterm elections as a referendum on his administration, warning that a Democratic victory would undo what he described as progress achieved under his leadership.
Trump accused Democrats of wanting to confiscate personal wealth, undermine Texas’ oil and gas industry and allow criminals to “rob, rape and kill.”
Vice President JD Vance similarly called on Republicans to defend their congressional majorities, urging voters not to hand control of the country to Democrats because of disagreements over individual policy issues.
“Don’t give the country over to a bunch of crazy people because you happen to disagree with us on a policy issue here or there,” Vance said.
