Peter Obi criticises federal response to Oyo security crisis
Presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticised the Federal Government’s response to the security situation in Oyo State, arguing that the presidency did not act swiftly enough.
Speaking during a public engagement, Obi claimed that the President did not contact the Oyo State governor for 50 days despite the security concerns.
He said that, if faced with a similar situation, he would personally visit the affected area within two days, insisting that security operations should be intensified to flush out those responsible.
Obi also called for greater transparency from security agencies, urging authorities to publicly parade suspects arrested during such operations rather than keeping their identities hidden.

“For 50 days the President did not call the Oyo Governor. Me? I will be there in 2 days. Is the bush not in Nigeria? Everybody in that bush will come out. Every-body! And it’s time to start parading the people they arrest, why are they always hiding them?”
