Liverpool FC makes pledge to Diogo Jota’s family

Liverpool FC has made a pledge to the family of Diogo Jota following his tragic passing.
Gistreel reported that Diogo Jota and his brother tragically passed away in a fatal car accident in Zamora, Spain, on July 3, 2025.
Prior to his death, Diogo Jota had two years remaining on his Liverpool contract, which the club has pledged to pay full, worth approximately £14.6 million, to support his wife, Rute Cardoso and their three children.
Furthermore, Liverpool FC has pledged ongoing emotional and legal support to the family, demonstrating their commitment to caring for their players beyond their time on the pitch.
The club has retired Jota’s number 20 shirt, and a permanent memorial will be opened at Anfield to honor his legacy.
