“He wants us to live separately after marriage” – Lady cries out

A lady has sparked reactions online after opening up on an unusual arrangement proposed by her boyfriend ahead of their planned marriage.

The story was shared on Facebook by Auntie Momoza, where the lady sought public opinion over her partner’s decision that they should live separately after marriage.

Couple Financially Stable

According to the lady, both she and her boyfriend are doing well professionally and are financially stable. She explained that she owns a house in the suburbs while her boyfriend lives in an apartment in town.

Unusual Marriage Plan

However, she became concerned after he suggested that they should continue living in separate homes even after tying the knot.

He reportedly proposed that each of them remain in their own homes while visiting each other whenever they wished.

Boyfriend’s Reason for Living Separately

The lady explained that her boyfriend believes staying together every day could eventually reduce excitement and affection in the relationship.

According to her, he feels that maintaining separate spaces would help them continue missing each other and keep the relationship fresh.

She also noted that they already have keys to each other’s homes, although they currently avoid making unannounced visits.

Seeking Advice

Confused by the arrangement, the lady turned to social media to seek opinions and advice on the unusual marriage plan.

In her words: “Please keep me anonymous. My boyfriend and I are planning to get married soon. We are both working and doing well in our careers. I have a house in the burbs and he has an apartment in town.

He says he doesn’t want us to live together when we get married. Basically, he’ll stay alone at his apartment and I’ll be at my house. We will visit each other whenever we want.

We have keys to each other’s residence, but at the moment we don’t do unannounced visits. He says when we are married we don’t have to report visits. He says living together everyday will eventually make us lose interest in each other. He wants us to miss each other. What do you think?”
