Lady questions graduate’s decision
Sharing the story on X, she wrote:
“So I was discussing with my mum yesterday when she told me about her neighbour’s granddaughter.
Apparently, the girl just finished NYSC and was offered a job paying ₦150k, but she turned it down.
I was honestly surprised because, according to my mum, she currently doesn’t have a job and mostly stays at home.”
The lady noted that the graduate reportedly lives with her parents and does not have rent or most household bills to worry about.
She continued:
“I mean, ₦150k may not be a huge salary, especially with how expensive things are now, but wouldn’t it at least be a good place to start?
She could save, learn something, gain experience and maybe use the money to start a small business later.”
According to her, the young woman is believed to be around 26 or 27 years old.
She concluded by questioning what could have influenced the graduate’s decision.
“She should be around 26 or 27, so I was wondering what made her reject it.”
The post has generated reactions on social media, with users offering different opinions about whether ₦150,000 is an acceptable starting salary for a fresh graduate.
