A grieving mother in Rivers State has cried out for justice after reportedly losing her three children in a tragic accident involving an reckless driver on May 15, 2026.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. when a man said to be teaching his girlfriend how to drive lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a roadside shop where the children were staying.
The victims, aged 10, 4 and 3, reportedly died from injuries sustained during the crash.
The incident has sparked outrage among residents, with many accusing authorities of remaining silent over the matter despite growing public concern.
Speaking emotionally about the tragedy, the mother accused authorities of attempting to ignore the case.
“This is the cry of a mother who lost her three kids due to careless driving. I lost my three children and they are trying to sweep the case under the carpet. The Nigeria Police are not saying anything about the case,” she said.
Calls for justice
The bereaved mother also described the emotional pain she continues to face daily after the deaths of her children.
“Every morning, my alarm still wakes me up to take my kids to school, but when I wake up, there is no longer a child by my side,” she added.
Similar fatal accidents involving inexperienced or reckless driving have been reported in different parts of Nigeria in recent years, leading to renewed calls for stricter road safety enforcement and responsible driving practices.
