“Don’t vote for APC in 2027” — VDM begs Nigerians, says kidnappers don’t accept rice, ₦5k as ransom

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has reacted to repeated claims that he is working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that Nigerians should reject the party in the 2027 general election.
In a viral video shared online, the outspoken critic used sarcasm to address allegations linking him with the APC, while urging citizens not to support the party despite claims that he works for them.
Speaking partly in Pidgin English, VeryDarkMan appealed emotionally to Nigerians, saying the country needs a new direction because the current administration has failed to improve security and living conditions.
“I want beg Nigerians, abeg, make una no vote for APC,” he said. “As somebody wey dey work for them, I don check their system and I don see say dem no mean this country well.”
The activist claimed that after observing the system closely, he believes the APC cannot move Nigeria forward or solve the nation’s growing economic and security challenges.
He also criticised politicians for allegedly attempting to influence voters with money and food items during elections.
According to him, Nigerians should not exchange their votes for “₦5,000 and bags of rice” while insecurity continues to worsen across the country.
VeryDarkMan referenced attacks by bandits, kidnappers, and Boko Haram insurgents, arguing that the financial rewards criminals demand from victims are far greater than what politicians allegedly offer voters during campaigns.
He further stated that President Bola Tinubu has failed to adequately protect citizens and improve their welfare.
“You need change. You need somebody else that will stand and say enough is enough,” he said.
The social commentator also urged Nigerian youths to focus on obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the next election cycle.
He stressed that active participation in elections remains one of the strongest ways citizens can demand accountability and better governance.
“I want to see young people ready to fight for their PVCs and make their votes count,” he added.
VeryDarkMan concluded the video by insisting that Nigerians should not repeat what he described as the “mistake” of electing the current leadership in 2023.
