Chelsea Preparing €130M Bid for Romelu Lukaku After Initial Offer Turned Down

Chelsea are reportedly planning to return with a new bid worth €130m for Romelu Lukaku after their initial offer was turned down by Inter Milan.

Inter Milan, who Lukaku had sign with them until 2024, rejected Chelsea’s initial bid of €100 million. The Blues were also willing to include defender Marcos Alonso in the deal but that was not good enough to convince the San Siro club.

After ending their chase of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, Chelsea have identified Lukaku as their alternative signing. The Blues are preparing to offer him a contract that would see the 28-year-old forward earn €12 million per season without including the bonuses, according to Sky Sports Italy.

After winning the Champions League last term, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wanted to strengthen his squad further ahead of the 2021-22 season. The European champions were on the lookout for a solid forward and had made Haaland their top target before their alternative move for Lukaku.

Now the Inter board are waiting for the official proposal from Chelsea to take a decision together with Lukaku

But to be honest, is this deal actually worth it?, it’s a “NO” for me because it’s a complete waste of fund for real, the squad at Chelsea disposal is enough. They definitely need a striker but €130M for a striker who’s not 21 or 22 years is a waste of fund.
