Full Names: 2026 BET Awards Nigerian Nominees

Nigerian music icons Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tems, and Asake have received nominations for the 2026 BET Awards, further solidifying the country’s growing prominence in the worldwide music industry.
The candidates for the annual award ceremony were announced on Tuesday, ahead of the event, which is slated for Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Los Angeles.
Wizkid and Asake received a joint nomination in the Best Group category for their collaborative efforts and chart-topping releases.
Tems emerged as one of Africa’s top competitors at the awards, receiving three nominations. She was nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, BET Her Award for her song “First,” and Viewers’ Choice Award for “Raindance,” a collaboration with Dave.
Burna Boy was also nominated for Best Collaboration for “WGFT,” his cameo on Gunna’s song.
Nigerian artists have consistently made an impact on the BET Awards stage over the years.
Wizkid remains one of Africa’s most renowned BET winners, while Burna Boy continues to dominate international categories at the awards.
Other Nigerian stars recognized by BET include Davido, Tems, 2Baba, D’banj, Ice Prince, and Ayra Starr, who earned the Best International Act award in 2025.
Ayo Edebiri and Cynthia Erivo were nominated for Best Actress, and Damson Idris was nominated for Best Actor, among other Nigerian-born actors.
