The UAE has revealed three requirements for anyone who want to join the Emirati army.
Conditions to join the UAE army

The UAE government said that the following conditions must be met by persons recruited for national duty.
- Must be a UAE citizen.
- Must be 18 years old and have not exceeded 30 years for males or 35 years for females.
- Must be medically fit.
According to the website,
“People enlisted for National Service must meet the following conditions: A UAE citizen. Males must be at least fifteen years old and no older than thirty, while ladies must be at least thirty-five. To be medically fit.”
UAE army: Age limits differ by gender
One significant part of the qualifications is the discrepancy between male and female applicants in terms of the upper age limit.
Male candidates must be no older than 30 at the time of recruiting, while female candidates may apply up to the age of 35. Both groups must be at least 18 years old to participate.
Due to the requirement for UAE citizenship, the military’s national service recruitment is only open to Emirati people, excluding expats and foreign residents regardless of how long they have resided in the country.
Medical fitness completes the three prerequisites as a non-negotiable standard that all applicants must meet before being admitted into service.
UAE: Citizens face fine for skipping enlistment
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the UAE government has stated the punishments people could face if they failed to enlist in the national military for no legitimate cause.
Under the country’s military service requirements, eligible individuals who fail to enroll before the age of 29 may face a one-month to one-year jail sentence, a fine ranging from AED 10,000 to AED 50,000, or both.
