His comments come in the wake of Sao Tome and Principe’s withdrawal from the WAFCON qualifiers, which automatically advanced the Super Falcons to the second round of qualifiers.

Nkiyu noted that the withdrawal of Sao Tome and Principe presents an opportunity for the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to provide the women’s national team with the necessary support and preparation ahead of the second stage of qualifiers.

He also emphasized that the delay in appointing a coach for the Nigeria Women’s team should not hinder the Super Falcons’ performance. “Any coach who takes charge of the Super Falcons will have a complete team to work with,” she added.

Nkiyu pointed out that the team already possesses a strong and complete squad, as evidenced by their impressive performance in the Women’s World Cup.

“The Super Falcons have the best squad to secure the Women’s Nations Cup ticket. We already have a complete team that can compete against any team in the world, based on their performance at the World Cup.
