“We will go to the nooks and crannies of Lagos” — Sanwo-Olu rallies support for Tinubu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not take voters for granted as the party formally begins its campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Lagos APC kicked off its political mobilisation with an inter-faith prayer session at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, on Tuesday, rallying support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the party’s candidates in the state.

The gathering brought together APC leaders and supporters alongside Christian, Muslim and traditional religious representatives who offered prayers for the candidates and peaceful elections.

Sanwo-Olu promises extensive mobilisation

Addressing party members, Sanwo-Olu stressed that seeking divine guidance would not replace the work required to secure victory at the polls.

“We are not taking anybody for granted. We have only asked God to give us direction. We will work, but we are also people of faith,” the governor said.

He further disclosed plans to intensify mobilisation across Lagos and the South-West as the presidential campaign gathers momentum.

“We will go out to work. We will go round. We will go to the nooks and crannies of Lagos and the Southwest,” he added.

APC leaders preach unity ahead of 2027 elections

Lagos APC campaign chairman Musiliu Obanikoro also cautioned members against allowing internal disagreements to undermine the party’s electoral ambitions.

“We may have different aspirations, preferences and interests. It is normal. But we belong to one party, and we must approach the elections with unity,” Obanikoro said.

Deputy Governor and governorship candidate Obafemi Hamzat similarly expressed confidence in the party’s prospects while calling for a peaceful electoral process.

The campaign launch marks the beginning of intensified political mobilisation by the Lagos APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
