Verydarkman gifts car to man who helped his family during childhood
Social media activist Verydarkman has gifted a car to a man he says played an important role in supporting his family during his childhood.
Sharing a video of the moment, VDM recalled that about 15 years ago, when he was still a boy, his family moved from Dagba to Baba Kwere, where they lived with his mother in a “face-me-I-face-you” apartment.

He said the man was their neighbour at the time and worked as a commercial driver, popularly known as “Kabu Kabu.” According to VDM, the man regularly helped his mother get to and from work when transportation was difficult.
“Every morning this man will take my mom to her work place. When he closes he’ll take her back. When we don’t have food to eat. Sometimes he’ll say take 200, take 100.”
VDM said the financial assistance was significant to his family at the time, recalling how the money was sometimes used to buy basic food items.
“We will then use this money to buy dry okro 20 Naira and oil 10 Naira that time. Buy garri and water. Chop that one go sleep.”
Reflecting on how his family’s circumstances have changed, VDM said he had always promised himself that he would remember people who supported his mother while she was struggling to raise her four children.
He said gifting the man a car was his way of fulfilling that promise.
“I am happy today that I am able to fulfill one of the promises I made to myself which is when I make money I will remember everyone that helped my mother when she was struggling with the 4 of us.”
He described the man as someone who “really helped our family” and said the gesture was a form of appreciation for the support he received many years ago.
VDM accompanied the video with a message encouraging people to treat others well because circumstances can change.
“This man I just gifted this car really helped our family and today he is getting a pay back. This is a message to everyone that TREAT PEOPLE WELL, you don’t know tomorrow.”
He also expressed gratitude to God for enabling him to fulfil the promise he made to himself.
