Odogwu Asaba’s wife makes U-turn, apologises after defending husband amid serious allegations
The wife of Delta-based content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has apologised to women who were offended after she publicly defended her husband amid allegations of rape.
In a new video, the mother of four reflected on her earlier decision to publicly stand by her husband, admitting that fear and financial dependence influenced her response.

However, despite apologising for her initial video, she maintained that she believes her husband is innocent of the allegations and said she would continue fighting for her marriage.
‘I Shouldn’t Have Done That’
Odogwu Asaba’s wife said she had initially felt it was necessary to publicly show support for her husband but later realised that her actions had upset some women.
“I want to use this opportunity to apologise to all the women who feel offended because I stood by my husband, Odogwu Asaba. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have shown my face and that of my children,” she said.
‘I Was Scared’
Explaining why she initially defended him, the woman described herself as financially dependent on her husband throughout their eight-year marriage.
She said she had been a full-time housewife and did not have her own income, business or professional skills.
According to her, Odogwu Asaba had been responsible for providing for her, their four children and her parents.
She admitted that she feared being rejected by her husband if she failed to publicly stand by him during the controversy.
“I was scared. I was scared if he comes out, he’s going to reject me,” she said.
‘I Believe Him 100%’
Despite her apology, the woman insisted that her belief in her husband’s innocence had not changed.
She said Odogwu Asaba admitted to being involved with the 20-year-old woman, Favour Agbro, but denied forcing himself on her.
The woman added that she had never witnessed such behaviour from her husband during the years they had been together.
“I believe him 100%. Even if I can’t defend it. Even if I can’t prove it. I believe him,” she stated.
‘I Am Going to Fight for the Man That Made Me a Mother’
She also addressed calls from members of the public urging her to leave her marriage, saying she did not intend to do so based solely on public opinion.
“I am going to fight for the man that made me a mother,” she said.
Her husband, she explained, remains the father of her children, and she said she intends to continue fighting for their marriage.
Odogwu Asaba was arrested after the family of Favour Agbro petitioned the Delta State Police Command.
Authorities confirmed that an investigation was ongoing and that the matter would proceed through the appropriate legal process.
