‘Don’t Become Cruel Just Because You’re Angry’

She also urged him not to insult her, deliberately say hurtful things or give her the silent treatment for days.

“Dear future Hubby, please don’t become cruel just because you’re angry. Don’t threaten me with divorce every time we have a serious disagreement.

“Don’t insult me. Don’t deliberately say things you know will break me. Don’t give me silent treatment for days,” she wrote.

Ugochi said she wants a relationship where both partners can openly address their mistakes and express their feelings without fear of creating another conflict.

“If I am wrong, tell me. If you’re wrong, I’ll tell you too. If I hurt you, I want you to be able to say, ‘This thing you did hurt me,’ without being afraid that I’ll turn it into another fight,” she stated.

‘I Don’t Want a Perfect Marriage’

The woman made it clear that she was not seeking a perfect marriage but one built on emotional safety and understanding.

“I don’t want a perfect marriage. I want a safe one.

A marriage where two imperfect people can have difficult conversations and still know: ‘It’s us against the problem, not me against you,’” she wrote.

‘Disagree Without Destroying What We’re Building’

Ugochi urged her future husband to learn how to handle disagreements without damaging their relationship.

“So, my love before we say ‘I do’, let’s learn how to disagree without destroying what we’re trying to build,” she said.

She added that she does not only want to marry her future husband but hopes to still enjoy his company many years into the marriage.

“Because I don’t just want to marry you. I want to still like you when we’re 20 years into this marriage.

“Your future wife, UGO,” she added.
