MLS: Inter Miami express interest in signing Madrid’s Luka Modric

Inter Miami are reportedly making moves to secure the signature of Real Madrid’s creative midfielder Luka Modric.

It has been suggested that the Major League Soccer (MLS) side have received support from their record signee Lionel Messi, who has advised them to pursue another Ballon d’Or winner for their squad.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Modric is the player most discussed in the team at present, with David Beckham, a co-owner of Inter Miami and Modric’s former teammate at Real Madrid, also keen on bringing the 38-year-old Croatian star to Florida.

While discussions are said to be in their early stages, recall that Modric’s current contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the current season.

The midfielder had agreed to a one-year extension in June but could reconsider his options with the Spanish giants and 14-time Champions League winners.

At present, Modric is reportedly focused on regaining his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup at Real Madrid, having suffered some minor setbacks in recent games, following the arrival of rising talent Jude Bellingham.
