Asides from leading Argentina to winning their third World Cup after 36 years, Lionel Messi is now the 9th player in history to win the tournament, Champions League and Ballon d’Or.
Messi finished the tournament with 7 goals, one goal short of his club teammate and French star Kylian Mbappe who won the Golden Boot after scoring 8 goals.
