Lady regrets after giving her $2,000 life savings to church

A woman has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing a painful experience of allegedly giving away her entire Bitcoin savings worth $2,000 to a church.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the lady expressed deep regret over her decision, saying she was influenced by promises of receiving “hundredfold blessings” after making the donation.

Woman recounts costly decision

The woman explained that her actions were driven by strong religious beliefs at the time. She admitted that she trusted the message she received and acted without questioning it.

“If you ever feel stupid, just know that there was a time in my life when I used to be so religious and I gave out my life savings of $2,000 that I had in Bitcoin to a church because they said that if you give God your last card, he is going to bless you in hundred folds.”

Her statement has since drawn attention, especially as cryptocurrency investments like Bitcoin continue to gain value globally.

Social media users react

The video triggered mixed reactions, with many users sharing differing opinions about faith, responsibility, and financial decisions.

Safwan Idris wrote: “Next time you use your common sense! Giving Hod isn’t always about giving religious houses. Feeding the needy in your house is part of giving God.

Helping family is part of giving God. Taking care of yourself and investing in legal business to grow your money is part of faith too. The problem with us and religion in Africa is context!”

Nonso Vintage wrote: “What churches has done in this country even God can’t finish judging it. I remember a man whose wife used their family’s life savings to swim in the pool in the church which was said to bring blessings, heal sicknesses and bring financial breakthrough. This woman swam with 28 million naira within 7 months.”

Sir Tosha wrote: “Siser, you are just a fool. Na the man wey go marry you I dey pity. And to even think giving money to the church guarantees you blessings shows you are even a shallow Christian.

Christ has always said, give to the poor, the needy, the homeless, cos that’s where it matters. But you are still giving to your pastor, who is probably collecting from 50 other people to enrich himself. And that ur pastor that said that thing is a thief.”

Chibuzor wrote: “Let Him blame nobody but Herself for being such a high level Mumu. You made the money without such promise but believe that dashing it to church will make you the richest man in Africa. How did she even acquired the $2000 in the first place?”
