JAMB 2026 Top Scorers: Ekiti-born candidate emerges highest scorer with 372

An applicant to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) topped the list of top scorers for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

JAMB said at its 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Abuja on Monday that the top scorer for the 2026 UTME was Owoeye Jesudunsin, an Ekiti native who took the test in Ogun State. She was the contender with the highest score, receiving 372 out of 400.

Jesudunsin applied to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) with the intention of studying medicine and surgery, according to JAMB registrar Ishaq Oloyede.

Her score is three points lower than the 2025 maximum score of 375. Chinedu Okeke, who was born in Anambra, received the score.

Ikenna Enwere took second place this year with 370 points. The Imo native chose Nile University in Abuja as his first choice and plans to study computer science.

He was closely followed by Ayomide Bamisile of Ondo State, who received 369 points. Bamishile applied to study software engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in Ondo state.
