“If you relocate abroad, move on from your Nigerian girlfriend” – Woman advises men

An abroad-based Nigerian woman has stirred reactions online after sharing her blunt advice to men who relocate overseas.
According to her, men who move abroad should not feel obligated to remain in relationships they left behind in Nigeria, especially if they meet someone new.
In her words, she said:
“As a man, if you have a girlfriend back in Nigeria and you relocate abroad, if you meet someone you like over there, move on with her and forget your Nigerian girlfriend.
No girlfriend in Nigeria for a man who is abroad; they only wait if they don’t see a man that is better than you. I’m speaking from experience.”
She explained that her advice is based on personal experience, suggesting that long-distance relationships are often difficult to sustain, adding that some women who choose to wait may simply not have found someone better.
Her statement has sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing that relocation changes relationship dynamics, while others criticised her for promoting disloyalty.
Many reactions followed her post. One user wrote, “This one no get joy 😭,” while another added, “Long distance no easy sha, but this one na bad advice.”
The comment has continued to generate debate online, with many sharing differing opinions on love, loyalty, and relationships across borders.
