“He’s fencing our house…” – Landlady cries out as tenant fences house rented to him without permission
A Nigerian landlady has cried out after a tenant allegedly fenced her husband’s compound without their consent.
In a video making rounds online, the distressed woman repeatedly called on Nigerians to intervene, insisting that the tenant’s actions were unacceptable.
“Make una help me, my husband no dey… na why this man dey do fence. Him dey do fence for person house,” she lamented, suggesting that the tenant may be taking advantage of her husband’s absence.
Tenant Defends His Action
During a confrontation captured in the video, the tenant defended himself, claiming his decision to fence the compound was driven by security concerns.
“I have to fence this place because of the security problem we have in this country,” he said.
However, his explanation was quickly challenged by others present, who reminded him that the property does not belong to him.
In a surprising twist, the tenant further stated, “I’m using my money. Instead, you should tell me thank you.”
Questions Over Authority
The situation escalated as the landlady questioned the tenant’s authority to carry out such a major alteration on a property he does not own.
“Is it your house? Why not go to your own land and develop your land?” she fired back.
Another voice in the background also confronted the tenant, asking, “You are the tenant, right? Why are you fencing this place?”
