“He told me to pack my things” – Woman cries out after visit to longtime friend sparks marital dispute

A married woman has sparked debate online after revealing that her husband allegedly asked her to leave their marriage because she travelled to visit her best friend without his approval.
According to a tweet shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @Oma, her best friend had just returned to the country after spending 10 years abroad, and she was eager to see her despite her husband’s refusal.
In her words, she said:
“My best friend came back after 10 years abroad. We were in different cities, and I told my husband I wanted to go see her, but he refused.
Because it had been so long since I saw my friend, I still travelled without telling him. When I arrived, I called him to let him know I was with her. He said nothing.”
She disclosed that things took a shocking turn later that night after her husband sent her a message that left her devastated.
“Later that night, he sent me a message: ‘Go and pack your things from my house to your parents’ house,” she added.
The woman questioned whether visiting an old friend should be enough reason for a marriage crisis, insisting that wives are not children who need permission before seeing their friends.
The story has since sparked mixed reactions online.
One user wrote, “Why travel after he already refused?” while another added, “Sending her packing is too extreme abeeg.”
The incident has continued to generate conversations about trust, communication, and boundaries in marriage.
