Havertz, Saka on target as Arsenal thrash Newcastle 4-1 to close in on Premier League

Arsenal avenged their earlier defeat against Newcastle with a 4-1 victory, narrowing the gap to two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Arteta’s side showed their strength against a struggling Newcastle, who seemed outmatched from the start.

The game’s opening goal came in an unusual manner, with Sven Botman inadvertently directing the ball into his own net.

Arsenal’s superiority was evident in their play, leading to a beautifully crafted goal for Kai Havertz.

Despite a brief resurgence from Newcastle early in the second half, Arsenal continued to dictate the game.

Bukayo Saka added a third, while Jakub Kiwior’s header from a set-piece further extended Arsenal’s lead, with visiting goalkeeper Loris Karius unable to prevent the goals.

Karius, making his Premier League debut for Newcastle, had a challenging outing, conceding four goals without much support from his defense.

The victory marks a turnaround for Arsenal since their previous meeting with Newcastle, where they suffered their first defeat of the season in contentious circumstances.
