Governor Ademola Adeleke visits Wike after meeting Tinubu at Aso Rock
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja, hours after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
The Thursday meeting with Wike formed part of Adeleke’s consultations in the Federal Capital Territory following his victory in the August 15 Osun State governorship election.

A photograph shared on X by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, showed Adeleke and the minister shaking hands while holding the governor’s certificate of return.
Adeleke thanks Tinubu for election process
Earlier on Thursday, Adeleke met Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he presented his certificate of return and thanked the President for allowing the electoral process to run its course.
The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner after he polled 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes. Adeleke won in 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas.
Speaking after his meeting with Tinubu, Adeleke said, “Yeah, that is why I’m here to thank Mr. President, the father of the nation, because he fought for this democracy.”
He added, “That is why he allowed free and fair election, and that is the result.”
Wike meeting adds to Adeleke’s Abuja engagements
The governor’s subsequent meeting with Wike has drawn attention as Adeleke continues engagements in Abuja following his re-election.
The meetings come at a significant moment for the Osun governor, who is expected to focus on consolidating his administration after securing another term.
Adeleke’s engagements with Tinubu and Wike also underline the political consultations taking place after the Osun governorship election, with the governor publicly expressing appreciation for the electoral process and its outcome.
