Geovany Quenda complete Chelsea move from Sporting Lisbon

Chelsea has completed the signing of 19 year old Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon on a contract until 2034.
Quenda is regarded as one of European football’s brightest talents, having helped Sporting win the Portuguese league and cup double last year.
He was also voted Primeira Liga Young Player of the Season in 2025, and he has appeared regularly for Sporting in the last two seasons, playing in both attacking wide positions and as a wing-back.
‘It feels good to be here,’ the 19-year-old remarked. ‘Chelsea is a fantastic team, and I am delighted to play at Stamford Bridge. The club has shown faith in players like myself, and I am pleased to be here, to be part of the club.
Geovany Quenda has penned a deal until 2034
‘I’m thrilled to work alongside my teammates and Manager Xabi Alonso. I am a hardworking young guy who enjoys assisting my colleagues. I want to be remembered as someone who has the appropriate attitude to aid my teammates and works hard to help the club win championships.
Quenda became the youngest player ever to score for Sporting in his debut season, and he concluded the season with 54 games in all competitions as the club won the Double. He also holds the record for the youngest Portuguese player to score in the UEFA Champions League.
Quenda most recently represented Portugal at the Under-21 level and was chosen for the Team of the Tournament for the 2025 European Championships.
