Fabrizio Romano confirms Barcelona have made no contact with Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Barcelona have not made contacts with Liverpool for Thiago Alcantara.

Barcelona’s pursuit of a midfielder remains uncertain due to financial constraints and the need for investment in Barca Vision.

While the club’s Sporting Director Deco has backup options in mind if funds become available, there have been no recent developments regarding Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara.

Despite links with Thiago, who boasts a history with Xavi Hernandez and is nearing the end of his contract at Liverpool, Romano, revealed that there is currently no movement concerning the midfielder.

In an interview with Caught Offside, Romano stated, “No, I’m not aware of any movement for Thiago right now.

“Very quiet January for him so far, no talks and focus on Liverpool as he wants to return as soon as possible on the pitch.”

Barcelona’s midfield depth has been depleted by injuries to Gavi and ongoing fitness issues for Pedri.
