Roberto De Zerbi has improved Spurs’ possession game, but the team have struggled to turn that control into clear-cut chances. With Kudus now fully fit, a stronger attacking performance from the Ghanaian could be crucial against United.
Spurs need more from Kudus
Kudus enjoyed a major influence during his first season at Tottenham after arriving from West Ham United, where he had established himself as one of the club’s main attacking outlets.
His importance became even clearer after an injury ended his campaign, with Spurs struggling badly for attacking threat during his absence.

The Ghanaian has not reached the same level of influence at the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign, although he did provide an assist in Tottenham’s 3-2 defeat by Aston Villa.
He is now competing for attention alongside Savinho and Omar Marmoush, but Tottenham still need Kudus to become a more consistent threat.
Manchester United defence offers opening
Saturday’s opponents could provide Kudus with an opportunity to rediscover his attacking influence.
Manchester United have conceded eight goals this season and have yet to establish much defensive consistency, while injuries have forced changes to their back line.
Luke Shaw could be involved, presenting Kudus with a potential matchup against a defender the Ghanaian can test with his pace, strength and dribbling ability.
Tottenham need the former West Ham winger to demand the ball more frequently, draw defenders towards him and attack the spaces opening up around the box.
His ability to move inside and deliver dangerous passes into central areas could also help unlock Marmoush, whose own impact has been limited so far.
Marmoush arrived as a major attacking addition, and Tottenham will need their wide players to create the conditions for the forward to become more influential.
Kudus therefore has an important role to play against United. Spurs need him to become the aggressive, creative presence who can stretch a defence and turn possession into genuine opportunities.
Against a United side that has shown defensive vulnerabilities, Saturday could be the moment for Kudus to reassert himself as one of Tottenham’s most important attacking players.
