Atiku raises questions over NYSC certificate

In a 25-paragraph affidavit personally deposed to in support of the case, Atiku alleged that Tinubu supplied false information in the Form CF0001 submitted to INEC.

He specifically questioned the NYSC certificate attributed to Tinubu, noting that the document bears the name “Tinubu Bola Adekunle”.

Atiku said, “I know that the NYSC certificate is clearly not one obtained by the 1st defendant, as it belongs to one Adekunle.”

He further alleged that the document remains in INEC’s custody and described it as a forgery because Tinubu’s name does not include “Adekunle”.

Case adds to 2027 political battles

The suit adds another legal dimension to the growing political contest ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.

Atiku’s challenge is now awaiting the next stage of proceedings, with the Federal High Court expected to continue hearing the matter when it reconvenes on September 28.

The court’s eventual decision could have significant implications for the political parties and candidates involved in the 2027 presidential race.
