The 10-time African champions entered the encounter with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, secured through goals from Michelle Alozie and Kanu. They maintained their dominance in the return fixture to book a meeting with Morocco in March 2027.
Payne opens scoring for Nigeria
The Super Falcons struggled to break down Comoros early in the match but eventually took the lead in the 41st minute through Payne.
Kanu pressed the Comoros goalkeeper and won possession before setting up Payne, who finished the opportunity to give Nigeria a 1-0 lead heading into half-time.
Nigeria increased their advantage 12 minutes after the restart when Kanu headed home from Folashade Ijamilusi’s cross in the 57th minute.
Payne completed her brace six minutes later, converting a chance created by substitute Blessing Okpe to extend Nigeria’s lead to 3-0.
Kanu then scored her second goal of the match in the 66th minute, once again heading home from an Ijamilusi delivery to put the hosts in strong control.
Ucheibe completes five-goal rout
Nigeria continued to press forward and were awarded a penalty after Okpe was fouled inside the box.
Ucheibe stepped up in the 72nd minute and calmly converted from the spot to make it 5-0 on the night and seal Nigeria’s comprehensive victory.
The result confirmed the Super Falcons’ progression with a 7-0 aggregate scoreline, having kept clean sheets in both legs of the tie.
