PSG revive interest in Malo Gusto as Chelsea reportedly consider sale

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly renewed their interest in Chelsea defender Malo Gusto, with the Premier League club now open to offers after demanding £75 million for the Frenchman during the summer transfer window.
According to reports, Chelsea were reluctant to part ways with the 23-year-old despite interest from several European clubs, including Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Gusto attracted attention after concerns emerged over his position in Chelsea’s defensive pecking order following the arrival of Marco Palestra in a reported £43 million deal.
However, the full-back remained at Stamford Bridge and has continued to receive playing time under manager Xabi Alonso.
PSG target Gusto for defensive depth
PSG are understood to be the leading contenders for Gusto’s signature as they seek additional competition for Achraf Hakimi at right-back.

The French champions also value Gusto’s versatility, with the defender capable of operating in central midfield when required. His ability to cover multiple positions could make him an attractive option as PSG look to strengthen their squad.
Chelsea reportedly valued Gusto at £75 million during the summer, approximately three times the fee they paid Lyon to sign him in January 2023.
However, Sky Sport reports that the Blues are now willing to consider offers and could revisit the possibility of selling the defender with a revised valuation.
Gusto has started three of Chelsea’s first four Premier League matches this season, suggesting he remains part of Alonso’s plans. Nevertheless, increased competition following Palestra’s arrival could affect his opportunities as the campaign progresses.
Gusto wants to secure Chelsea future
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his long-term role, Gusto is reportedly happy in west London and wants to establish himself as a regular starter at Chelsea.
However, the reported lack of guarantees over his place in the team has raised questions about his future, potentially giving PSG an opportunity to pursue a deal.
The defender has made 141 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Lyon, scoring three goals and registering 18 assists.
