2027: Isaac Fayose alleges 5 APC governors are secretly backing NDC to stop Wike in FCT, Rivers
Businessman and political commentator Isaac Fayose has alleged that five governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are secretly supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
Fayose claimed that although the governors would not publicly campaign for the opposition party, they had allegedly promised to financially support its electoral operations in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to him, the governors’ major concern was preventing FCT Minister Nyesom Wike from securing the two areas for the APC.
“We now have five APC governors supporting NDC in this election. They’re not going to come out to campaign for us. They’re not going to say anything in public that will favour us. But underneath, they promised to sponsor this election.
They don’t want Wike to win FCT and Rivers State for APC. I told them that their game plan is to carry our ballots and announce the results that they are writing as we speak. And they said yes, they know.
So they are offering all our polling agents in Rivers State and FCT ₦200,000 per polling unit. If you can stand together against rigging, they are willing to give you ₦200,000 each,” he stated.
Fayose further claimed that the unnamed governors did not want their identities disclosed because they remained APC members.
He also alleged that he told the governors he did not want President Bola Tinubu to return to office, while they told him their priority was preventing Wike from securing Rivers State and the FCT for the APC.
The identities of the five governors and the alleged financial offer are based on Fayose’s claim and have not been independently verified.
