2027: “If Peter loses, we will scatter Nigeria” — Bayelsa man spits fire

A Bayelsa man has sparked reactions on social media after declaring that Nigeria could be divided into six countries if Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi loses the 2027 election.
In a viral video, the man, who identified himself as a Bayelsan, expressed anger over what he described as the long-standing contribution of Bayelsa and the Niger Delta to Nigeria’s economy.

He referenced the discovery of oil at Oloibiri, Bayelsa State, and argued that the region had played a major role in sustaining the country.
“I’m from Bayelsa and you can imagine how angry, when I mean angry, how hungry I am as a Bayelsan because since Oloibiri, when they discovered oil in Nigeria, Bayelsa, the Niger Delta has been the goldmine and the sponsor and the survivor of Nigeria,” he said.
The man, however, stressed that the views expressed were his personal opinion.
“I want to put this caveat. You might not like it, but this is my opinion,” he added.
He then turned his attention to the 2027 presidential election, declaring that he believed Obi’s victory would amount to victory for Nigeria.
“Come 2027 January, if Peter Obi wins, we have won Nigeria. If Peter Obi loses, we scatter Nigeria. We divide Nigeria,” he said.
He went further to suggest that Nigeria could be broken into six separate countries based on the country’s six geopolitical zones.
“Everybody go to your roots. We have six geopolitical zones. Let’s have six different countries in that bloody Nigeria,” he stated.
The Bayelsa man also described Obi as “the people’s president” and called on Nigerians to make efforts towards ensuring his victory in the 2027 presidential election.
“Peter Obi is the people’s president and we all have to make all efforts, no matter how little it is, to make sure that Peter Obi wins 2027 January election,” he said.
He concluded by reiterating his position that anything outside an Obi victory could lead to Nigeria’s division.
“Anything outside that will scatter that country. Everybody will go their own way,” he said.
The remarks have generated reactions online, particularly because of his call for the country’s six geopolitical zones to become separate countries if Obi does not win the 2027 election.
