“You’re going to Segunda” – Vinicius fires warning at Espanyol defender in heated clash

Vinicius Junior was at the centre of controversy once again after a fiery exchange with Omar El Hilali during Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Espanyol.
The Brazilian forward clashed repeatedly with the Espanyol defender in a physical encounter that escalated both on and off the ball.
VAR overturn fails to calm early flashpoint
Tensions flared early when El Hilali was initially shown a red card for a challenge on Vinicius. However, the decision was overturned following a VAR review, allowing the defender to remain on the pitch.
Despite the reversal, the intensity between both players continued throughout the match.

“Later you’ll ask for my shirt”
Footage captured after the game revealed Vinicius taunting his opponent during one of their exchanges.
“Later you’ll ask me for my shirt outside and I’m not going to give it to you… You’re going to Segunda,” he told El Hilali, implying Espanyol’s potential relegation.
Heated exchanges continue throughout match
The back-and-forth did not end there. During a set-piece situation, Vinicius accused El Hilali of persistent fouling, while also dismissing his behaviour as attention-seeking.
