“Why I’ll still campaign for Tinubu despite not being paid for 2023” – Actor Baraka reveals

Oluwole Cole, the Yoruba actor better known as Baraka, has stated that he will continue to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election, despite having yet to “be paid for campaign work during the 2023 presidential race”.
In an interview with African A-List, the Lagos Island native revealed that politics is firmly ingrained in his community, and he continues to support the president.
He said that he and other campaigners gave up acting and master-of-ceremonies (MC) jobs to campaign for Tinubu but were never paid the promised amount.
“During the 2023 election, I campaigned for Tinubu, but we received no funding. Many of the campaigners left their jobs to do so. As for me, in addition to acting, I work as an MC, and I know how much I can earn per month,” he explained.
“I, like others, missed out on several job possibilities at that period. I also missed out on several acting opportunities, and we were not paid what we were promised.
“As for me, Seyi Tinubu will continue to pay with my own money. He is a good boy and will settle me. I am from Lagos Island, and politics is a part of our way of life. I am interested in politics and will continue to support Tinubu. “I can’t leave him.”
Baraka is not alone in expressing concern about unpaid campaign compensation. In recent months, several more performers have made such accusations.
Alapini also expressed disappointment, claiming that neither he nor the other celebrities who campaigned for the president received the compensation or accolades they were promised.
Lalude also complained about being “abandoned” after campaigning for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
