‎Earlier, GistReel reported that the actor passed away at 40 from cancer, with heartfelt tributes pouring in.

In an Instagram post, Grace Mabel, wife of celebrity fashion designer, Yomi Casual, mourned Ekubo’s passing.

‎According to her, the actor left behind his wife, parents, siblings, and colleagues.

‎”I wish we didn’t listened to you and broke down the walls of privacy, you had built. Burn it, no matter how many time you put it up. You guys are not okay at all. You parents, wife,siblings, your gang, your colleagues, fans”, She stated.

Stanley Ontop Breaks Silence

In a recent development, Stanley Ontop has broken his silence on Alex Ekubo’s passing, providing details about his illness.

In an Instagram post, the veteran Nollywood producer disclosed that the actor was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2024.

However, after undergoing treatment and a transplant, he returned to work.

Eventually, complications arose and his condition deteriorated, leading to his death.

Meanwhile, the actor passed away on Monday, 12 May 2026, at a Lagos-based hospital, and his body was taken to a morgue.
