UAE Residence Permit: 2 Reasons for deportation despite valid residence
The legislation states that in either of the following circumstances, a foreign national with a residency visa may be administratively deported by the UAE:
- If there seems to be no way for him to survive.
- If the security authorities believe that the public interest, public safety, or public morals demand his removal.
The first requirement focuses on citizens who are unable to provide proof of a visible or verifiable source of income or financial support that is adequate for them to live in the nation.
The second grants security officials extensive latitude to start the deportation process if they believe that a foreigner’s continuing presence poses a harm to the public or goes against the moral standards and values of the nation.
What foreigners in the UAE need to know
A residency permit is not an automatic guarantee of stay, as the regulation makes clear.

Each of these powers can be construed and applied at the discretion of the competent authorities.
