“I no do again” – Lady publicly denounces feminism, says ‘men saved me when I almost died’

A Nigerian lady identified as Sonia Chisom Chukwu has publicly announced her decision to denounce feminism, saying she no longer wants to participate in what she described as a growing culture of hatred and conflict between men and women.

Chukwu, who described herself as a “proud pick-me woman,” said her previous anger towards men was partly influenced by her experience with her biological father.

She explained that she later realised that several men had shown her kindness and support at different points in her life.

I Was Angry With Men – Sonia Reveals

In a lengthy social media post, Chukwu said she had been “fighting because I was angry at my dad,” but changed her perspective after reflecting on the good men who had supported her.

She wrote:

“I’m publicly denouncing Feminism!

“This world is becoming too toxic for us because we are busy h@ting and fighting each other! I’m a proud pick me woman. I no do again!

“We are all fighting from a place of pain, I’m fighting because I was angry at my dad! But I just realized that there a million and one Good and kind men out there!”

She went on to describe her husband as one of the good men in her life.

“My husband is one of them! He is a good man!

“He’s not perfect, has his flaws just like myself, However He’s a kind man!”

She Lists Men Who Have Supported Her

Chukwu also mentioned several men whom she said had treated her with kindness, including a taxi driver, her uncle Ifeanyi, her foster father Mr Arthur Iloh, her best friend Barrister Onuora, Honorable Chima Obieze and her elder brother.

She also singled out her godfather, Daddy Joshua, as another man who had positively impacted her life.

According to her, these experiences made her realise that her negative feelings towards men had caused her to overlook the men who had stood by her.

She Recalls Health Crisis Before WAEC

Chukwu also shared a personal experience from 2018, when she said she nearly died from a ruptured appendix shortly before she was due to write her WAEC examination.

She recalled that several men came to her assistance during the difficult period.

She wrote:

“When I almost d!ed in 2018 as I was about to write my Waec because appendicitis ruptured in my stomach it was men that saved me.”

She identified Rev. Fr Franklin Eze, the principal of St. Paul’s College Eke, as the person who paid her hospital bills and also paid for her WAEC examination.

She further recalled the doctor who operated on her and said he treated her and her mother with kindness and consideration.

Chukwu also spoke about her foster father, Mr Arthur Iloh, who she said carried her on his back when she was unable to walk.

“He carried a grown woman like me on his Back in the middle of the night cos I couldn’t walk! He was there at the hospital till we were discharged, then took us Home.”

She said the experience made her realise that while she had been angry because her biological father did not show up, other men had been there for her.

“While I was angry at men because my own father didn’t show up when I was sick and dying I forgot there were so many men who were there for me too.”

‘Evil Has No Gender’

Chukwu called on women to stop viewing men as their enemies and instead focus on people who commit wrongdoing, regardless of their gender.

She said:

“This is a call to my fellow women! Evil has no gender! Let’s not fight men! Let’s stand together and fight against bad people.”

She argued that women can also be responsible for serious crimes, stressing that wrongdoing should not be associated with one gender.

She added:

“It’s bad people we ought to fight! It’s corruption we need to fight! It’s bad leaders! Insecurity! Hunger! E.t.c not ourselves!”

Men and Women Have Different Strengths – Sonia Says

Chukwu also shared her views on gender roles, saying she does not believe men and women are equal in every area because, according to her, both genders have different abilities.

She said:

“I stand for love

“I stand for inclusiveness

“I do not believe men and women are equal we are all abled differently!”

She added that there are areas where women are superior and others where men are superior, arguing that competition between the sexes is unnecessary.

“Nature has made men leaders! God too made them Heads! Let us allow them Lead while we contribute to make the leadership worthwhile!”
