Tottenham 0-0 Everton: Spurs remain winless, goalless after four Premier League games

Tottenham’s difficult start to the Premier League season continued as Roberto De Zerbi’s side were held to a goalless draw by Everton in North London.

Spurs still searching for first league goal

Tottenham struggled to find a way through a disciplined Everton defence, extending their wait for a Premier League goal.

De Zerbi had hoped his major summer investment would quickly translate into improved attacking performances, but Spurs have instead found themselves among the early-season strugglers.

The lack of goals will be particularly concerning for the Italian manager, with his team unable to turn possession and pressure into the decisive moments needed to win matches.

Tottenham at least avoided another defeat, although their performance offered little to lift the mood around the club.

Everton climb as Spurs endure more frustration

The point moves Everton up to seventh in the early Premier League table and gives David Moyes’ side back-to-back draws after their entertaining meeting with Manchester United.

Spurs, meanwhile, remain winless and will have to find an attacking solution quickly if they are to prevent their poor start from becoming a bigger problem.

James Maddison’s return from injury provided one of the few positive moments for the home crowd, with the midfielder receiving the loudest applause from supporters as he acknowledged them after the final whistle.

De Zerbi was visibly frustrated at full-time, speaking with Mathys Tel on the pitch before heading down the tunnel.
