Southgate dismisses rumours of Manchester United job as pressure mounts on Ten Hag

Gareth Southgate has dismissed speculation linking him to Manchester United managerial role, stating he is focused is on Euro 2024.

With Erik ten Hag’s position under pressure at Old Trafford, Southgate’s name has been tossed into the rumour mill.

However, the England manager remains tight-lipped, insisting his gaze is on the upcoming European tournament in Germany.

Southgate told BBC, “For me, it’s not an issue and never has been. I have to deliver a successful tournament for England, and there’s enough work involved in that.”

He added that there is always speculations of managerial change whenever a manager is not performing, but the narrative quickly changes, once he returns to winning ways.

Although he acknowledges the rumours, he told ITV in a different interview that, “Everything else outside of that [the upcoming Euro competition] is a complete irrelevance to me.”
