With Erik ten Hag’s position under pressure at Old Trafford, Southgate’s name has been tossed into the rumour mill.
However, the England manager remains tight-lipped, insisting his gaze is on the upcoming European tournament in Germany.
Southgate told BBC, “For me, it’s not an issue and never has been. I have to deliver a successful tournament for England, and there’s enough work involved in that.”

He added that there is always speculations of managerial change whenever a manager is not performing, but the narrative quickly changes, once he returns to winning ways.
Although he acknowledges the rumours, he told ITV in a different interview that, “Everything else outside of that [the upcoming Euro competition] is a complete irrelevance to me.”
