Simeone names Barcelona as LaLiga’s best team this season
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has identified Barcelona as the best team in LaLiga so far this season, praising their attacking quality and willingness to take risks.
Simeone made the assessment after Atletico secured a 2-1 victory over city rivals Real Madrid on Sunday, with the result keeping Barcelona six points clear at the top of the table.

Simeone impressed by Barcelona
The Argentine coach believes Barcelona have stood apart from their rivals with the way they approach matches, particularly their aggressive pressing and attacking mentality.
“It seems Barcelona are playing a different sport from the one we’re playing,” Simeone told ESPN.
“They didn’t have a number 9 striker, then Raphinha showed up and scored 12 goals. And Yamal, if I’m not mistaken, scored 7.
“They press you in your own stadium and steal your time, and they don’t fear taking risks and conceding a goal. They are the BEST now.”
Simeone’s comments came shortly after Atletico’s derby victory over Real Madrid, a result that strengthened their position in the title race.
Atletico edge 10-man Madrid
Real Madrid were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when Dean Huijsen was shown a red card.
Atletico took advantage of the numerical advantage, with Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonathan David scoring to put Simeone’s side in control.
Antonio Rudiger pulled one back late for Real Madrid, but Atletico held on to claim the derby points.
