“She wanted to abort, now they’re legally married with a second baby” — Lady shares advice that changed her roommate’s life

A woman has shared how advice she gave her roommate during their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme changed the course of another woman’s life, with the story now drawing widespread attention on social media.
According to the woman, her roommate became pregnant for a fellow corps member who failed to disclose that he was already in a serious relationship.
After informing him about the pregnancy, the man reportedly admitted that he was engaged to another woman, leaving her roommate devastated and determined to terminate the pregnancy.
Rather than support the decision, the woman said she encouraged her roommate to keep the baby and confide in her mother. She explained that the conversation proved to be a turning point in the unfolding events.
A life-changing decision
Sharing her experience, the woman said, “During my NYSC, my roommate got pregnant for a fellow corper, the corper guy was in a serious relationship but never told my roommate. So when she broke the news to him, he told her he was engaged to someone, so my roommate decided to abort the pregnancy. I told her not to remove it, she said the guy isn’t ready to take up the responsibility but i encouraged her to keep it and she should inform her mum about it. She did, her mum was happy and warned her never to abort it. 5 years later, she’s legally married to this Corper guy with their second baby, they won’t stop thanking me for not encouraging her to abort the baby.”
The woman said her roommate’s mother welcomed the pregnancy and firmly advised her daughter against ending it, despite the uncertainty surrounding the child’s father at the time.
Story sparks mixed reactions online
The account has since generated discussions across social media, with many users describing it as a touching example of how life can take unexpected turns.
Others, however, noted that every unplanned pregnancy comes with unique circumstances and should not be judged based on one person’s experience.
The story continues to attract reactions from Nigerians, with many reflecting on the unpredictable nature of relationships and the lasting impact that timely advice can have on someone’s future.
