“She no longer calls me any name” – Man laments as wife drops pet names after he cut monthly allowance
A Nigerian man has humorously shared how the pet name his wife calls him allegedly changed as the amount of money he gives her monthly reduced.
In a Facebook post, the man recalled that his wife initially called him “Onye Nwem” when he gave her ₦100,000 every month, but the name gradually changed as his financial support reduced.

‘She Called Me Onye Nwem’
The man explained that shortly after their marriage, he gave his wife ₦100,000 monthly, prompting her to affectionately call him “Onye Nwem,” which means “the owner of her life.”
“When my wife and I married newly, I was giving her 100k every month and she was calling me ‘Onye Nwem’ meaning ‘the owner of her life’. She was calling me the name meant for God and wanted to cause serious problem between me and God o,” he wrote.
However, the situation changed as his responsibilities increased and he could no longer maintain the same amount.
‘My World’, ‘My Heart’ and ‘Papa Kaira’
According to the man, when the monthly amount dropped from ₦100,000 to ₦70,000, his wife also changed the name she used for him.
“As time goes on and responsibility was increasing, I reduced the money to 70k and the name she was calling me changed to ‘my world’,” he stated.
When the amount was later reduced to ₦50,000, the pet name changed again.
“The money later reduced to 50k and she reduced the name she was calling me to ‘my heart’,” he added.
Things changed further when he could only afford ₦30,000 monthly, with his wife then referring to him as “Papa Kaira.”
“As I couldn’t do 50k any longer, I started doing 30k and my name came down to ‘Papa Kaira’,” he wrote.
‘She No Longer Calls Me Any Name’
The man revealed that the amount eventually dropped to ₦10,000, after which his wife stopped giving him any pet name.
“From 30k it further reduced to 10k and she no longer calls me any name. If she wants to call me now, she will tell Kaira my daughter to call her papa,” he stated.
He then joked about what he expected to happen if he reduced the money even further.
‘She Will Start Calling Me Ekperima’
The man said he was planning to reduce the monthly amount to ₦5,000 and humorously predicted that his wife would come up with another name for him.
“Now that I’m planning to reduce it to 5k, I’m sure she will start calling me Ekperima,” he wrote.
