She also recalled how some people tried to discourage her husband from marrying her because of her age, while some members of his family allegedly disliked her because he had rejected younger women they had introduced to him.

‘I Married at the Age of 47’

The woman disclosed that she was 47 when she got married and had been viewed by some people as being too old to have children.

“Let me bring this out finally. I married at the age of 47 and I had no hope of having a child because to me I was almost close to menopause and many saw me as old package,” she wrote.

Several people reportedly tried to discourage her husband from marrying her, but he ignored them, including his mother.

“He ignored everyone including his mom. We got married against all odds,” she stated.

She added that some members of her husband’s family did not hide their dislike for her because they had brought younger women whom he rejected before choosing to marry her.

‘He Made Me Feel Like a Baby’

The first year of their marriage was described as extremely blissful, with her husband taking her to Ghana for their honeymoon, where they spent several months.

After returning to Nigeria, she noted that her husband did not allow her to do much around the house.

The woman also acknowledged their age difference, revealing that she is older than her husband but now looks younger because of how he pampers her.

“I am not ashamed to say that I am older than my husband and right now I look younger than him because of how he pampers me, made me feel like a baby even when I’m older. My husband was 44 when we got married,” she wrote.

‘Does It Mean You Are Pregnant?’

The couple’s first pregnancy reportedly came while the husband was out of the country.

She recalled informing him that she had missed her period, but he initially did not understand what she meant.

Instead, he reportedly suggested adoption while assuring her that he loved her regardless.

“I paused and asked him if he understood what I meant, then he said let me call you on video,” she wrote.

During the video call, he asked her to repeat what she had told him before asking, “does it mean you are pregnant?”

“I said yes. He said he’s coming back the next week,” she recalled.

The couple later travelled to Israel during the pregnancy, where she described the treatment she received from her husband as that of a baby.

‘I Gave Birth in UK’

The woman revealed that she eventually gave birth to their first child in the United Kingdom.

“I gave birth in UK, he was there with me throughout everything,” she stated.

She noted that the birth of their first child also changed the relationship between her and her husband’s family.

“When we came back to Nigeria, that was when his mom and family really accepted me,” she wrote.

‘He Helped Me Pull Through’

The woman became pregnant again when their first child was just nine months old.

She admitted that the second pregnancy was emotionally challenging and that she almost went into depression.

Her husband reportedly supported her through the difficult period, while his mother and her sister also came around to assist her.

“He employed a cook and a nanny,” she added.

She eventually gave birth to their second child in the UK.

After the birth, her husband reportedly underwent a vasectomy.

‘I Am Blessed’

Reflecting on her journey, the woman described her marriage and motherhood experience as a blessing.

“Is God not wonderful. It doesn’t matter when you marry, it’s about who you Mary. I am blessed,” she wrote.

She also revealed that she and her husband are from different ethnic backgrounds, noting that she is Igbo while he is from Akwa Ibom.
