Serie A: Lookman on target again as Atalanta beat Torino 3-0

Atalanta continued their Europa League celebration with a 3-0 win against Torino, ensuring they finish at least fourth in Serie A.

The win also denied Roma a Champions League spot.

After their midweek 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin, La Dea displayed the Europa League trophy to their fans.

Torino, battling for a potential Conference League spot, hoped for a Fiorentina win over Olympiacos to secure ninth place.

Before kick-off, Torino welcomed Atalanta with a Guard of Honour.

The match began with Atalanta pressing for an early goal. Gianluca Scamacca later opened scoring, turning on the edge of the area and firing into the far bottom corner.

Ademola Lookman, fresh from his Europa League Final hat-trick, continued to threaten but missed narrowly from a tricky angle.

Atalanta doubled their lead just before halftime. Charles De Ketelaere’s pull-back found Mario Pasalic, whose shot was parried by Luca Gemello into Lookman’s path for an easy finish.

In the second half, Scamacca had a goal disallowed due to De Ketelaere’s earlier dribble crossing the by-line.

Bellanova’s long-range effort skimmed the post, and Lookman had another goal ruled out for a soft foul by Scamacca.

Atalanta then sealed the win with a Pasalic penalty after Adrien Tameze fouled Lookman in the box.

Lookman nearly added another but was ruled out for a offside.

Atalanta’s victory capped off a successful season, with backup goalkeeper Rossi making a key save in his first appearance of the season to maintain the clean sheet.
