Ronaldo acquires £7m luxury homes on exclusive Red Sea island

Cristiano Ronaldo has expanded his global property portfolio after acquiring two high-end villas on a private island off the Saudi Arabian coast.

The Al-Nassr forward, who signed a two-year contract worth an estimated £492 million last summer, has invested part of his earnings in premium real estate located on Nujuma Island in the Red Sea, around 16 miles offshore.

Exclusive island development

Nujuma is a high-end destination accessible only by boat or seaplane, with visitors required to arrive via the Red Sea International Airport before transferring to the island.

The development sits nearly 800 miles from Riyadh, where Ronaldo is based during the football season.

The island is positioned as a luxury retreat, offering secluded villas designed for elite clientele seeking privacy and exclusivity.

Details of the properties

Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodríguez, are reported to be among the first buyers on the island, purchasing two villas valued at approximately £3.5 million each.

One of the properties reportedly features three bedrooms for family use, while the second includes two bedrooms.

The villas are arranged in a distinctive ring-like formation over the sea and were designed by renowned British architect Lord Norman Foster.

Prices across the development are said to range between £3 million and £4.5 million.

Lifestyle and long-term vision

The island also includes premium lifestyle amenities such as a golf course and fine-dining options, with plans for up to 11 luxury resorts to be developed in the area.

Ronaldo, speaking to the Saudi Gazette, described the appeal of the location: “It’s truly exceptional in every sense of the word.

“From our first visit, Georgina and I felt a deep connection with this island and its breathtaking natural beauty. It’s a place where we find peace and tranquility.”

John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea International, welcomed the move, saying: “We are delighted to welcome Cristiano and Georgina to the Red Sea Residences community.”
