Roma secured victory against Monza on Sunday, after Stephan El Shaarawy late strike that broke the deadlock in the 90th minute.

Despite hitting the woodwork twice and facing a tough Monza side, Roma’s persistence paid off.

Monza’s Danilo D’Ambrosio received his second yellow card just before half-time, reducing his team to 10 men.

The red card brought more pressure on Monza, who had to defend Roma’s attacking efforts.

Roma’s breakthrough in the game came when Azmoun’s attempt was blocked, allowing El Shaarawy to volley the rebound into the net.

The goal was particularly important for El Shaarawy, who recently took legal action against allegations of involvement in illegal gambling.

Meanwhile, Roma manager Jose Mourinho made a wild celebration on the touchline, after the goal, but his excitement got him into trouble, as he was sent off the pitch, moments after for engaging in a petty argument with Monza staff.

Mourinho’s actions could see him bag a suspension for their upcoming match against Inter.
