Lookman targets maximum points as Super Eagles begin AFCON 2027 qualifiers
Ademola Lookman says the Super Eagles are focused on securing maximum points from their opening two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
Nigeria will begin their qualifying campaign against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo next Thursday before travelling to Bissau to face Guinea-Bissau four days later.

The Super Eagles are determined to make a strong start to their qualification bid, although Lookman expects both opponents to provide difficult tests.
Lookman wary of Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau
Speaking to Sporty TV, the Atletico Madrid winger acknowledged the quality of the two teams but insisted Nigeria are targeting victories in both fixtures.
“The whole team is really looking forward to it. Two very important matches are coming up, and the opponents are, of course, tough to face,” Lookman said, as quoted by Football App.
“But we’re eager to win both of these games. We know the matches will be difficult, but we’ll do everything we can to achieve it.”
Nigeria, three-time African champions, will hope to make home advantage count against Madagascar before facing Guinea-Bissau in their second Group D fixture on Tuesday, September 29.
