Rema Early Life
Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name ‘Rema,’ is a brilliant Nigerian hip hop singer, songwriter, rapper, afrobeat vocalist, recording artist, and stage performer born on May 1, 2000, in Benin City, Edo State to a Christian family.
In Edo State, he completed his primary and high school education. While in secondary school, he began singing and rapping.
Church was also an important part of his early musical experiences, as it was where he began making frequent rap performances with pals.
At the age of 14, he had acquired enough popularity in the church to be named ‘rap nation leader’ by the congregation, and he began coaching other younger rappers.

D’Prince invited Rema from Benin City to Lagos after seeing the video go popular on social media and introducing him to the Mavin Records family.
Rema signed a record deal on March 22, 2023, with D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a division of Mavin Records.
