PSG vs Barcelona: Enrique meets former club in Champions League Q-final – team news

Paris Saint-Germain will face Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, set for this evening (Wednesday).

Having won Real Sociedad 4-1 on aggregate in the previous round, the French champions now face another tough Spanish side in Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Barca made it to the round beating Napoli 4-2 in the round of 16, and are in to make their mark on the European stage under manager Xavi Hernandez.

Barcelona last met PSG in the quarter-finals of the European elite tournament in 2017. At the time, Enrique was still in charge of the Spanish side.

Despite PSG winning 4-0 in the first leg, Barcelona orchestrated a miraculous comeback in the return fixture.

They clinched a 6-5 aggregate win with an extraordinary 95th-minute goal from Sergi Roberto.

As both teams gear up for the clash, PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe and Achraf Hakimi will be sidelined due to injury and suspension, respectively.

However, the return of Bradley Barcola, alongside the duo of Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, bolster PSG’s attacking setup.

On the other hand, Barcelona will be without the services of Frenkie de Jong and Pedri due to injury, potentially paving the way for former Chelsea player Andreas Christensen.

The much-anticipated Champions League quarter-final first leg is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10.

Kick-off at the Parc des Princes is slated for 8:00 PM.
